What’s in a Turkey Box?

1 turkey 4 cans of corn 4 cans of green beans 2 cans of yams 1 box of stuffing mix 1 can of cranberry sauce 3 onions 6 potatoes 1 bunch of celery 1 loaf of bread 1 dessert

Each November, low income families throughout Hays County receive a 10-12 pound turkey and the trimmings for a holiday meal from the food bank. Eleven hundred families received a box in 2007.

This enormous effort is made possible through the generous donations of food and money during our annual Turkeys Tackling Hunger campaign in the fall.
